Characters: William, a guy with curly blond hair, he’s about 23
Charlie, a guy with straight brown hair, he’s about 19
Scene: in the middle of the scene there’s a lighted circle, the rest of stage is dark. There are objects on the floor, as strange as possible.
Charlie comes on the scene, from the right, and gives a look around; he’s not at ease.
CHARLIE: Will? Will, Where are you? Gosh! Why did I come?
William comes slowly from the left, he carries a bag; he’s smiling.
CHARLIE: There you are, man!
WILLIAM: Sorry C, I’m late, but I’ve got something for you.
CHARLIE: Another present? Man, I can’t stand another silly object of yours! I’m going home.
Charlie walks away, but he doesn’t get out of the lighted area
WILLIAM: No, please, wait! You’re gonna like this one, I promise!
Charlie stops without turning to William
CHARLIE: What’s it, then?
WILLIAM: I can’t show you this way!
Charlie turns to William
CHARLIE: So what?
William looks inside his bag, and pulls a dodo beak out of it
WILLIAM: Look! Isn’t it “ducking” awesome?!
CHARLIE: First of all that’s not a duck beak, and your rhetoric sucks. And second point, what am I supposed to do with that thing?
Now Charlie stays cold, and William starts speaking in a childish way
WILLIAM: Wear it!
CHARLIE: I won’t.
WILLIAM: C’mon!
CHARLIE: Why should I?
WILLIAM: ‘Cause I asked you to!
CHARLIE: It’s not a good reason.
WILLIAM: ‘Cause I’ve always wanted to ride a dodo
CHARLIE: What the… Listen up, mate, you’re damned—
William keeps whining and squats
CHARLIE: O my Gosh…
William is now having convulsions. Charlie wears the beak.
The first part of Charlie’s gag must be said with an annoyed voice, whereas the second part is more hilarious.
CHARLIE: What a spoilt child! Hey Will, there’s a ride waiting for you. Get up!
William rises and gets on Charlie’s shoulders. He’s very happy. The two of them leave the scene with William screeching words like “yoohoo, faster!, faster!, I’m the king and you’re my slaves, go dodo go!”
